Die in Salzburg lebende Tänzerin und Bewegungsdozentin Verena Pircher hat einen BA von Codarts Rotterdam. Zwischen 2015 und 2019 war sie festes Mitglied der schwedischen Tanzkompanie Norrdans. Im Jahr 2018 wurde Verena zertifizierte Countertechnique-Lehrerin. Neben internationalen Workshops in Stockholm, Berlin und Amsterdam unterrichtete sie Studierende an der HfMDK Frankfurt (GER), der Bruckneruniversität in Linz und der Universität Mozarteum Salzburg (AUT). Im Juni 2020 assistierte sie der Choreografin Anouk van Dijk an den Münchner Kammerspielen. Zurück in ihrer Heimatstadt Salzburg, arbeitet sie als Produktionsleiterin für das Sommerszene Festival sowie das Flavourama Streetdance Festival. Gemeinsam mit der Choreografin Rosana Ribeiro hat Verena kürzlich die Tanztheaterkompanie "Selva" gegründet.

FOCUS CLASS

Countertechnique provides tools for body and mind to deal with the deman­ding dance practice of the 21st century. It is a movement system to help the dancer think about the dancing body, focusing on the process of incorporating information into action. Within a clear structure of exercises, the Countertechnique class thoroughly prepares the body for rehearsal and performance, enabling dancers to move bigger, more fluidly and more spatially, while becoming stronger and more flexible.

By continuously and sequentially directing parts of the body away from each other in space, Countertechnique allows the moving dancer to work with an ever-changing dynamic balance. This dynamic balance reduces the pressure on the overall body structure and can be changed at any given moment.
